Hello! I'm Britt Drews AKA "Miss Britt" and I'm the teacher behind Bare Cove Arts. I live in Hingham with my husband, our three young children, an "energetic" rescue dog named Winston, and a little flock of backyard chickens. I am very enthusiastic about creating and teaching process based art classes for children.
I graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Elementary Education and an area of concentration in Studio Art. Prior to having children I was an elementary school teacher and also worked at Northwestern University's School of Education and Social Policy teaching and mentoring new teachers in the most underserved areas of Chicago. I have been involved in teaching or directing arts programs through community centers and park districts near Chicago for many years. Prior to staying home to raise my children I went through early childhood Montessori training and definitely bring a little Montessori to the art room. I'm also currently the extended day art teacher at Old Colony Montessori School in Hingham. In my spare time I can be found making pottery in my home studio or at the Harvard Ceramics studio. You can find my work at Local Pottery (Norwell) and on Instagram.
I have a child with severe food allergies and am well aware of the difficulties in finding engaging programming with a high level of allergy awareness! Contact me (email@example.com) if you have any specific questions.
