TAKE-HOME KIT: playdough
MATERIALS:
5 small containers of playdough in various colors with lids to press shapes into, 1 wooden textured rolling pin, silicone mat (it’s a placemat I cut down), blank face page to fill in with playdough, a note for parentsabout the kit, and assorted wooden sticks. Colors of playdough and textures of rolling pins will vary.
Play dough is such a nice project for young children for a multitude of reasons. It is great for hand/eye coordination, strengthening fine motor skills, it’s a great sensory experience, color mixing, and of course great for creativity. I put out play dough as a choice every Tuesday open-studio at the Community Center because it’s a very comfortable activity. Children often check in there first before they choose to do another kind of artwork. The wooden sticks included may seem random but children LOVE to poke things into the playdough. Having a mat to work on keeps things organized, keeps the play dough from sticking to a table, and focuses their work.
Porch up at 32 Colonial Rd in Hingham, *any time after you have checked out, please make sure you receive an email that the purchase went through. On my porch there will be two separate containers of take-home-bags. One bin: Playdough - each bag is the same, they are NOT labeled with children's names, please take the one you touch and if someone else is here to pickup please keep a distance. (The other bin is for an elementary aged project)
*please note today, Monday, April 13, I'm going to bring the bags in by 3 pm. 65 mph winds on their way from 3-10pm.
Each bag was prepared with the utmost care, handled only byme while wearing gloves.
Thank you for supporting a local small business. :)
