Something new while we are stuck at home!
Each week I will be posting new small and engaging art & craft projects in take-home bags (limited quantities).
After purchase, stop by to pick-up any time, any day*. Porch pick up in Liberty Pole, see listing for more detail.
$20 per bag
Activities will be engaging, open-ended (there is no specific adult-driven ideal children are working toward), and easy for children to understand. This will NOT just be another thing you need to manage! :) But will hopefully keep children happy and engaged. Two sets of bags are available: one for younger children and one for older children.
Each bag was prepared with the utmost care, handled only by me while wearing gloves.
WEEK OF APRIL 20 (update: my printer ran out of ink so this is delayed. Will be available soon!)
TAKE-HOME KIT: weaving
My printer ran out of ink so this will be delayed another day...
3 balls of acrylic yarn, wide wooden weaving loom for older children, narrow heavy duty chipboard loom for younger children, a popsicle stick "shuttle" (needle), KID FRIENDLY instructions, and ONLINE videos made by me. Colors of yarn will vary.
Other things you will need: scissors, tape, stick (optional)
WORDS TO KNOW:
weft: horizontal threads
warp: vertical threads
loom: what we will be weaving on
shuttle: ours is a popsicle stick..a way to get the yarn through the warp
DID YOU KNOW?! Weaving is one of the oldest crafts in the world?! People started weaving about 12,000 years ago! Humans would weave branches and twigs to make fences, homes, and baskets. Even some birds weave their nests!
Porch pick-up at 32 Colonial Rd in Hingham, *any time after you have checked out, please make sure you receive an email that the purchase went through. NEW this week: bags are hanging on hooks on the inside of my propped open storm door which will remain open about 8am-8pm daily. (This has solved my Massachusetts weather challenges.)
Please note as of now there are FOUR types of take-home bags so make note of which bag you need and please only touch the one you are taking. If someone else is here to pickup please keep a distance.
Each bag was prepared with the utmost care, handled only byme while wearing gloves.
Thank you for supporting a very local and very small business. :)
